Everyday Care

Quantra is virtually maintenance-free and can be cleaned with extreme ease. Common household spills – such as, tea, coffee, lemon juice, soda, fruit, vegetable juice, olive oil or grease spills – are easily removed and the surface is restored to its original appearance. For routine cleaning, use a damp cloth or paper towel and, if necessary, a small amount of mild soap. Once clean, rinse and dry the surface thoroughly. For stubborn or dried spills, use a nonabrasive cleaning pad combined with a small amount of mild soap or specialized stone cleaner.

Maintenance for Super Honed & Brushed Finishes

Some Quantra colours and finishes like super honed, brushed, etc. are more sensitive to grease or finger-prints and may require extra care during routine cleaning as compared to polished surfaces. Hence any dirt, marks or scratches will be more visible on a honed surface. These marks can be removed by using non-abrasive cleaning products and it is always recommended to clean as soon as the stains occur

Maintenance for floors

Quantra floors in high traffic areas should be cleaned daily with a clean, dry dust mop or soft bristle broom. Quantra floors in low traffic areas can be cleaned less frequently using the same method. A floor machine such as a slow speed buffer or walk behind scrubber can be used for larger commercial environments. Be sure to rinse thoroughly to remove any haze residue that may reduce the shine and beauty of the floor. For heavily soiled floors, as with any floor, it makes sense to clean up spills as soon as possible.

general-precautions

General Precautions

Quartz is one of the hardest materials in nature, which is your assurance that your Quantra surface will not easily scratch or chip. Nevertheless, on a kitchtentop, use of a cutting board is recommended.

To maintain the natural beauty of Quantra, do not place hot skillets or roasting pans directly onto the surface but use a trivet instead.

Spills should be spot treated with the use of a damp mop or cloth towel and, if necessary, a small amount of mild soap or specialized stone cleaner.

Avoid exposing Quantra to chemicals and solvents, especially paint removers or furniture strippers containing trichloroethane or methylene chloride. Do not place nail polish remover, bleach or cleansers that contain bleach, bluing, permanent markers or inks. While casual exposure to alkaline materials will not damage Quantra, highly alkaline (high pH) cleansers are not recommended when cleaning Quantra If any of the substances listed above come into contact with Quantra, rinse the exposed surface immediately and thoroughly with plenty of clean water.

Do not use strong abrasive and/or alkaline cleaning products. Always follow the manufacturer’s dilution instructions and recommendations.

Quantra is tough.. but needs handling with care

• Quantra can be damaged when it comes in contact with strong chemicals and solvents. Avoid using products that contain trichloroethane or methylene chloride that include paint removers, furniture strippers, oven cleaners, and products containing bleach. These products can cause permanent discoloration and damage to the surface. In the event that these agents come into contact with the surface, wipe immediately, rinse with water, and then clean with vinegar based cleaner.

• Do not use abrasive and or alkaline cleaning products.

• Do not use 3M ScotchBrite® green scrub pads or similar products, as they can cause the surface to become dull. When trying a new cleaning product, it is highly recommended that you always try the cleaner first on an inconspicuous place of the surface, if no discoloration/damage occurs, then use it in accordance with the cleaner manufacturer’s instructions.

• Excess heat can cause the polyester binder to contract and damage Quantra surfaces. Also, leaving the surface exposed to heat may cause it to feel rough to touch. Avoid possible discoloration by using a trivet between the countertop and any hot pan or heat source.

• Quantra is scratch resistant but can be scratched by materials harder than the quartz which makes up 93% of the product.

• Quantra can also be damaged by any kind of impact which causes the material to chip or crack. You can also download our Care & Maintenance Guide and Do’s and Don’ts for Quantra Surfaces.

By following the simple guidelines mentioned above, your Quantra countertop will stay new for many years to come.
