FAQs
Engineered stone countertops are man-made and consist of 85- 93% quartz and 7-15% of Unsaturated Polyester Resin. Pigments are used to provide the colour of the desired choice to these surfaces.
Quantra quartz is manufactured using patented Bretonstone technology. A brief outline of the manufacturing process is given below.
Feeding of Raw Material and Mixing
The raw materials (quartz, pigments and resins) are carefully selected and then subjected to stringent quality checks and then mixed together.
Moulding and Pressing
The mixture is then poured into a mold and formed into slabs of required sizes. It is then subjected to vacuum vibro-compression. This removes all the air and creates an even and compacted surface.
Curing
The slabs are then moved to the curing kiln and heated at 100°C to 120°C for 45 minutes which provides the required levels of strength and solidity.
Polishing
The slabs are calibrated and then polished to a perfect finish.
Quality Inspection
Every slab then undergoes rigorous quality inspection to ensure it meets our extremely high standards of colour, pattern and consistency.
Labelling, Packing & Dispatch
The slabs are then labelled, sorted and packed into bundles and safely shipped so that they reach our customers in perfect condition.
Quantra is manufactured in India. It has two state-of-the-art facilities for the production & fabrication of Quartz surfaces located in Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad.
Quantra is made of pure natural quartz, one of the hardest minerals on Earth, for performance and durability. Granite consists of about 40% to 60% quartz, along with other softer minerals and impurities. With Quantra, you get the aesthetics and feel of granite but possess greater strength and the advantage of it being non-porous and maintenance-free. Quantra is highly stain-resistant and would never need sealing. Just wash it with warm water, and use a mild soap if required. Granite is a porous stone and needs to be sealed regularly. It can absorb liquids and food, risking potential staining and bacterial growth within the countertop.

Quantra is available in the form of slabs, shower trays and sinks. Moreover, Quantra is also available in over 80+ designs.
Quantra is committed to the responsible usage of our natural resources. We will always use the finest raw materials on earth and source them sensitively, responsibly. The result is a highly durable and enduring material. Quantra is certified by GREENGUARD, GREENGUARD GOLD as a low-emitting product for indoor air quality and is suitable for all interior surfacing purposes. Quantra surfaces have no harmful emissions of any kind. Quantra is also certified by ISO, NSF, KOSHER and is also a member of the US Green Building Council.
Quantra Quartz Surfaces are safe for food contact and do not support the growth of any kind of bacteria, mold or mildew. Therefore, they can be used for food service areas in restaurants, healthcare and educational facilities, office buildings and public spaces.
To earn the right to use the NSF Mark, Quantra Quartz Surfaces not only met the stringent evaluation and testing of requirements of NSF/ANSI Standard 51, but also rigorous, unannounced inspections of its production facilities, which are conducted on a routine basis.
It is not recommended to use Quantra Quartz surfaces in locations where the product is directly exposed to UV rays or sunlight. The engineered stone consists of Unsaturated Polyester resin which will degrade in the presence of UV light.
Quantra is compatible with top-mount & under-mount sinks, including those made of stainless steel, cast iron, porcelain, or solid surface.
Quantra Sinks and Basins are one of its kind. Manufacturing 3D surfaces within Engineered Stone is a revolutionary concept. The range of choices we provide in terms of design and shapes are simply unbeatable and never seen before. In addition to this, Quantra sinks and basins are extremely resistant to stains and water, thanks to the proprietary technology embedded in them.
No, currently we have only 20 of our designs available for sinks and basins. If you have any special requests please write to us at contact@quantra.in.
Yes, there is a range for each model and they can be fully customized within those limits.
Our sinks, basins and shower trays consist of the exact same composition as our slabs. 85- 93% Quartz and 7-15% of Unsaturated Polyester Resin.
Quantra is virtually maintenance-free and can be cleaned with extreme ease. Common household spills – such as tea, coffee, lemon juice, soda, fruit, vegetable juice, olive oil or grease spills – are easily removed and the surface is restored to its original appearance. For routine cleaning, use a damp cloth or paper towel and, if necessary, a small amount of mild soap. Once clean, rinse and dry the surface thoroughly.
To remove difficult spills, soak the affected area for 5-10 minutes with a non-acidic cleaner then rinse and clean away with a non-abrasive pad. For stains that harden as they dry, such as food and gum, scrape it gently by using a small blade or a putty remover and then clean using warm water and soap. It is possible that some of the stubborn stains may leave a light mark or very slight discolouration on the stones. Permanent markers/ink may adhere to the surface and should be avoided. Should these agents come into contact with the surface, clean the surface first as outlined above. If the stain persists, moisten a cloth with Akemi Quartz Intensive Cleaner, or another comparable product, apply to the stain and then let the agent sit for about 15 minutes and wipe it with a clean cloth. Rinse thoroughly.
Quantra is zero porosity hence it does not require a sealer. It is also not recommended to use any kind of sealers or topical solutions on Quantra as they cause the surface to become hazy.
Quantra is highly resistant to scratches and damage from sharp objects. However, it is always recommended to use a cutting board.
Quantra can be damaged when it comes in contact with strong chemicals and solvents. Avoid using products that contain trichloroethane or methylene chloride that include paint removers, furniture strippers, oven cleaners, and products containing bleach. These products can cause permanent discoloration and damage to the surface. In the event that these agents come into contact with the surface, wipe immediately, rinse with water, and then clean with vinegar-based cleaner.
Quantra quartz is heat resistant; however, it’s not recommended to place extremely hot (above 150°C) pots, pans and other material directly on the surface. Always use a hot pad or trivet. Surfaces can be damaged by sudden and rapid temperature changes.
Quantra consists of up to 93% quartz which is one of the hardest materials known to man. Only materials that are harder than quartz can damage it so most household items come nowhere close to damaging the surface. Hence, your Quantra surface will not easily chip or crack and remain robust for many years to come. It is also highly resistant to staining when compared with other surfacing materials such as marble and granite.
Yes, Quantra provides a Residential Lifetime Limited Warranty and a 10-year Limited Commercial Warranty, a long-lasting investment, to purchasers of countertops with respect to the quality of the slabs. Please refer to Warranty.

Colour consistency is one of the main advantages of Quantra. The mixture of colour is always carefully controlled and monitored to maintain the highest level of consistency possible. However, slight colour variations can still occur. Colour variation is present due to the intricate nature of production. Slight background shade variations can occur, especially on monochromatic or solid colour patterns. Because of this, no two pieces of Quantra are exactly the same. Our engineers try to reproduce slabs of the same mix that are as close to a colour match as possible. Your Quantra surface will likely exhibit variations in colour, shade, quartz size and quartz particle distribution. Any sample chosen by you should be considered as a general representation of the final appearance of your surface. These variations are a part of the beauty and distinctive pleasure of owning a genuine Quantra surface. Remember that no one will have a surface exactly like yours.
